Matina Partosa

Biography

Matina Partosa explores the act of painting as an engagement with various scales of time. Her paintings echo geological forms and spontaneous snapshots, allowing digital influences and abstract gestures to settle and sink into the surface like layers of sediment. The primordial origins of painting are suspended into a dreamlike present.

Matina Partosa graduated from the UP College of Fine Arts with an Outstanding Thesis award. She was a scholar of the New York Academy of Art Summer Undergraduate Program in 2022. She has had solo exhibitions at the Drawing Room Manila and group exhibitions at Art Singapore, Art Jakarta, and KnottingSpace and Blindspot Gallery in Hong Kong, among others.
