Christina Lopez (b. 1995 Philippines) works across printmaking, sculpture, installation, sound and moving image.
Lopez examines how identities are constructed, circulated, and dislocated through systems of image production. Her practice traces the gap between embodied experience and its translation into data.
The artist’s interests goes as far as technical abstractions of old and new. She is fascinated with the specificities and archetypes of an image found in media circulations of popular culture and the physical and virtual mode of producing such media.
Lopez has exhibited at Busan Biennale (2024), S.E.A Focus (2023), as well as New York, Tokyo, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur. She is also the recipient of the Fernando Zobel Prize for Visual Art at the Ateneo Art Awards (2021), and a nominee for the S.E.A. Focus Art Fund (2023). In 2026, she was an Honorary Mention at the Hyundai VH Award.
