Rinne Abrugena

Biography

Rinne Abrugena (b. 1983) graduated Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with honors from the University of the Philippines in 2011. She taught in universities as lecturer from 2011-2015, worked in gallery management, conducted workshops, before committing full-time to exhibiting. Her work started in portraiture, to expressive figuration, and elemental abstraction. Abrugena’s experimentation in painting continues to revolve around building a visual language that explores possibilities in form referencing attitudes to belief systems, literature, and human behavior.
