Printmaking is the process of transferring an image from a matrix such as wood or metal onto another surface such as paper. When one thinks of prints, one visions a collection of editions or multiple originals with each print almost identical from one another.
Monoprints on the other hand are novel, one of a kind works on paper derived from various techniques in printmaking. Similar to the peculiarities in drawing and painting, monoprints have distinct nuances that make them memorable.
Benjamin Torrado Cabrera showcases an infusion between various printmaking techniques such as intaglio , relief, lithography, and burin engraving which gives way to a spectrum of perspectives and knowledge to visualize his observations of the world that moves between reality and imagination.
