if I could be all you wanted all the time

November 9 – December 7, 2024

Clarence Chun

Abstract painting today offers a wide array of approaches ranging from the appeal of more direct and authentic expressions generated by spontaneous gestural strokes with a corresponding detour towards subjective albeit beautiful design, to more disembodied applications coursed along conceptual systems and processes such as text and language, or deferred operations like the use of other actors and of recent intelligent machines. The intrigue of abstraction belongs to the rumor of the unknown, aspiring to depict something like ungraspable time using modulated colored pigments whilst codifying another impossibility in the form of sublimated thought, concepts being infinite and pure.
