The Drawing Room is pleased to present their featured artists at Art Singapore 2024. View works by: Maria Cruz and Gerardo Tan.

Maria Cruz makes use of various media, including installation and video, to explore physical and conceptual themes such as color, language and the process of painting. Her series of paintings are driven by rules and parameters. Within these rules and parameters, she continues to work through the formal concerns of painting such as color dynamics, repetition and seriality. She currently lives and works in Berlin and Manila. 

As a conceptual artist, Gerardo Tan explores the nature of art and how forms and materiality can be articulated in ideas and concepts, be it through painting, sculpture, found objects, artists books or installations. Often referencing works from the world of art to recontextualize history, he probes issues on the reproducibility of images and their spatial and temporal authenticity while opening them to new possibilities. He currently lives and works in Manila, Philippines.
