While looking at the works for “Sunday Paintings” and thinking of what to say about them I remembered a Japanese phrase “mono no aware”. Most of the works I do be it figurative abstract or print have a distinct melancholy about them. But mono no aware is a much better description. It means “the pathos of things… a melancholic appreciation of the transiency of existence.”
