Un/Happy Endings

In Quantum Mechanics, our world is just one
of the many multiple realities that exists.
Our idea of the universe, of our history and our reality is just one
interpretation out of many. The
many-worlds interpretation (MWI) allows us to view our “what if” versions of
this world not as pure fiction but as mathematical probabilities. Science fiction writer Philip K. Dick, author
of books such as The Man in the High Castle, Minority Report, and Blade Runner,
believes that “plural realities did exist, superimposed onto one another, like
so many film transparencies” and that their existence bleeds through our
imaginations, our “made-up” stories, our fantasies.
This exhibition tries to explore these
“other” possibilities of reality using books, movies, and other sources as a
starting point. Each artist is able to
reinterpret what seemed to be fictional or strange idea on how history turns
out or what kind of world we live in at a specific time. It may be one where a two-year lockdown due
to COVID is just part of a fictional story written by someone or where this
complicated, broken, and problematic world we currently live in is the “ideal”
one out of the many infinite worlds that exists
