The exhibition Notepad Series privies a glimpse into a selection of “visual diaries” by artist Louie Talents [b. Philippines]. It surfaces his early inspirations and process behind their making, revealing his dexterity with ink and pen and affinities with writing as form of artistic expression. First seen in the artist’s solo exhibition in Paris, Carnet Sans Âge, the ongoing visual diary project is restaged in the Drawing Room Gallery showcasing a select body of works completed from 2018 until present. The visual diaries presented in this exhibition are both sincere and introspective; bound upon the gallery walls, each work is akin to a portrait of the artist and his plentiful encounters. An avid traveller, they serve as records of things said and seen, heard and thought, throughout days spent touring across the world.
