VESTIGE # 2, SQUID INK ON SILK CLOTH, 40 X 40 CM, 2017
Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen’s praxis is based on performance art, often transformed to different materials, media, objects and installations. Her productions involve the body, scripted texts, songs; composed music as well as intricate visual elements as costumes used as set design.
Cuenca Rasmussen often takes her own Danish-Filipino background as a point of departure. She gathers, adapts, and universalizes her narratives in both a critical and humorous approach in regards to issues such as identity, culture, religion, gender and social relations.
Based in Copenhagen, Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen exhibits internationally. She was part of the Danish Pavillion at the Venice Biennale in 2011 in the group show Speech Matters; an exhibit of her work presently travels across the globe.
